Abstract:
In 1992, 12 agencies in California were funded to provide literacy training and basic skills remediation for homeless persons under the Adult Education provision of the Stewart B. McKinney Act. CASAS was contracted to provide the basic skills appraisal and to collect and analyze demographic data collected. Data collected from 2,111 participants between January and December 1992 is summarized in this report.
