Abstract:
This research report presents the results of a pilot study for a dissertation study concerned with understanding how African Americans experience participation in adult literacy education and the possible implications this understanding has for enhancing their participation. The research was presented at the 1996 annual conference of the American Association for Adult and Continuing Education (AAACE) in Charlotte, North Carolina.
