Abstract:
This report follows the recently published CAAL study, "Passing the Torch, Strategies for Innovation in Community College ESL" [OTAN ID #5795] which provides an "in-depth look" at ESL program service in several community colleges across the nation, with a focus on 'non-credit ESL'. "Torchlights..." describes in detail the five exemplary programs (including one at City College of San Francisco) identified in that earlier report, and is intended as a supplement to that document. The profiles in "Torchlights..." were prepared by the key researchers from the main project.
