Abstract:
The National Institute for Literacy was established in 1991 by the National Literacy Act (NLA)and reauthorized by the Workforce Investment Act (WIA). In President Obama's FY2010 proposed budget, NIFL is eliminated. The National Coalition for Literacy conducted a survey of nearly 800 adult educators and learners to identify services they would like to see maintained should NIFL be eliminated. This is the final report of the survey.
