Abstract:
The National Institute for Literacy held a two-day regional meeting in Los Angeles to address critical issues in adult literacy and to identify the emerging needs of literacy programs in the western region. Topics included collaborative partnerships among service providers, intergenerational literacy, citizenship, and ESL learners. This report includes an edited transcript of the opening remarks, morning panel discussions, afternoon working group reports, compilation of comments recorded at the lunch-time work groups, and the meeting evaluations.
