The Outreach and Technical Assistance Network (OTAN), the California Adult Literacy Professional Development Project (CALPRO), and Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment Systems (CASAS) are the three state leadership projects that support the California adult education field.

We have had some questions about how to earn a teaching credential to work for an adult education program. The best place to start is the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Go to the CTC Teaching Credentials Requirements webpage and scroll down to Designated Subjects Teaching Credentials for information on adult ed credentials. There are many agencies in California that offer credential programs, including online programs in response to COVID-19. The best place to look for adult ed jobs is EdJoin and you can also contact adult ed agencies directly for more information about job opportunities.
