The 2018-2019 school year is coming to a close, but OTAN’s June calendar is still busy with events we are attending. First up this week is the CASAS Summer Institute 2019 from June 11 to 13 at the Hyatt Regency in Orange County. OTAN staff and trainers will be presenting a number of sessions all three days of the conference – see the handout for the lineup of sessions, including titles, presenters, and times and locations. Please stop by our poster session Thursday morning to say hello and encourage your colleagues to attend our workshops throughout the conference. You can also see the entire Summer Institute program on the CASAS website External link opens in new window or tab.

OTAN staff members will also be attending the ISTE Annual Conference from June 23 to 26 in Philadelphia, PA. ISTE is the International Society for Technology in Education, and the conference includes numerous sessions on cutting edge topics such as AI (artificial intelligence), VR/AR/MR (virtual reality/augmented reality/mixed reality), robotics, and coding, as well as familiar topics such as apps, LMS (learning management systems), Google, Apple, and Microsoft products, social media, mobile learning, and others. The ISTE conference is a great opportunity for us to learn about topics to bring back to adult education in California. You can learn more about ISTE and its Annual Conference on the ISTE website External link opens in new window or tab. (Note that next year’s ISTE conference will be in Anaheim in June – mark your calendars now!)

Summer time at OTAN means less travel (except for the personal kind!) and preparing for the start of the 2019-2020 school year. Many adult ed agencies plan back-to-school trainings and events. If you would like OTAN to assist with workshops or other training, please contact us! We can present on any of the Summer Institute sessions we are presenting this week. You also can see the full list of face-to-face trainings on the OTAN website. Or, let us know what your technology needs are and we can help you plan training appropriate for your staff. Contact us at support@otan.us or call us at 916-228-2580.

Congratulations on a successful 2018-2019 school year, and we look forward to seeing you at the next event in 2019-2020!
