Apply now for the Integrated Education and Training Online Course

Posted on 01/21/2015

Applications are due on January 26, 2015 for CALPRO's four-week online course Integrated Education and Training (IET) beginning on February 2. In this course, participants work in agency-based teams with the goal of developing a plan to implement the integration of basic skills instruction with career and technical education. Teams consist of an administrator, an academic skills instructor and a CTE instructor. They will choose one of four instructional models that integrate adult education basic skills (i.e., Adult Basic Education or English has a Second Language) with technical or occupational skills instruction. The four models are: Co-teaching, Alternating Teaching, Vocational ESL/ABE-specific, and Cluster Vocational ESL/ABE. IET is an important focus of the new Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) legislation that will reauthorize federal funding for adult education.

This course requires an agency team application. Download the application External link opens in new window or tab and submit by Monday, January 26, 2015. Participants will be notified of acceptance by January 28.
