OTAN Upcoming Activities – Week of 2/14

OTAN provides activities and resources to support our adult education colleagues. (All times below are PST.)

  • The OTAN Office is closed on Monday, February 14 for Lincoln's Birthday. We will return to the office on Tuesday.

  • On Tuesday, February 15 at 2:00pm, OTAN and WorldEd will present Building an EdTech Strategy Toolkit (BEST) Course Orientation. The BEST Course is designed to walk instructors through a thoughtful process of designing strategic, sustainable instructional routines that leverage EdTech and are centered around the factors that most impact adult learners.   • On Thursday, February 17 at 12:00pm, Dr. Carolyn Zachry from the CDE Adult Education Office will present Continuous Improvement Plan (CIP): Process and Requirements. Dr. Zachry will provide a high-level review of the CIP document, requirements, and due dates as well as answer questions from the field.   • On Tuesday, February 22 at 12:00pm, OTAN and CAEP-TAP will present Canvas: Your Choice for Learner Access & Equity. A partnership called the California Distance Learning Cooperative (CDLC) is offering all adult education providers in California the opportunity to have their own instance of Canvas. This informational session will give administrators a basic understanding of what CDLC membership can provide their agency, learners, and teachers.   • On Thursday, February 24 at 1:00pm, Barry Bakin will present Easy Microsoft Projects 2 – PowerPoint and Excel. Participants will be shown simple project-based activities using PowerPoint and Excel which serve the dual purpose of language practice and learning basic functions of common software programs.
