Completing Your Technology and Distance Learning Plan

SMART Goal Framework slide. Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant (to learners' needs), (Within a defined) Timeframe

The Technology and Distance Learning Plan (TDLP) is an annual deliverable required of all California WIOA-funded adult education agencies. The due date for submitting the TDLP is Friday, January 31. We’re in the home stretch for completing the TDLP and thinking about and planning for technology use at your school for the coming year.

If you haven’t had a chance to log in and review last year’s submission, be aware that some changes have been made to this year’s plan. All agencies will be required to attest that they have reviewed the 2019-2020 Implementation Guide before proceeding with their work. In addition, changes have been made to parts of the TDLP in an effort to simplify some of the reporting. Make sure that all parts of the TDLP reporting have been updated from last year to next year. Also, a key component of the TDLP are completed student and instructor surveys; you will want to make sure that you don’t run out of time gathering enough surveys that are required before submitting the TDLP.

The TDLP is based on SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Timebound), and we have some informational videos on the OTAN YouTube channel to help your agency set sound SMART goals: a quick 5:00 video on S-M-A-R-T, and a longer one-hour webinar on setting SMART goals.

Please contact OTAN at support@otan.us or 916-228-2580 if you need assistance or have questions about any part of the TDLP. We are committed to working with you on your technology integration goals in the coming year!
