Monday, September 25, 12-1:00 pm | Artificial Intelligence (AI) Lunch Break | Bring your lunch, bring your appetite for knowledge, a curiosity for technology, and a willingness to collaborate, as we approach this exciting journey of exploring AI's potential in adult education with Jarek Janio.

Thursday, September 28, 12-1:00 pm | Canvas Q & A for Administrators and Teachers | Bring any questions about Canvas to our Instructure guest expert to be answered during this session. Once registered, participants will receive access to our Q&A document to log in questions ahead of time or in the moment. Questions will be answered in order of placement on this document.

Tuesday, October 3, 9-3:15 pm | CDE, Adult Education Office: New Administrators Orientation 2023 | The purpose of New Administrators Orientation (NAO) is to provide an overview of the Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA), Title II: Adult Education Family and Literature Act (AEFLA) grant implementation requirements and available resources. NAO is intended for Adult Education Administrators, Principals, and other Supervisor level staff as well as new sub-grantees. The online event will be held over three days October 3–5, 2023. Only one registration, on October 3, 2023, is required for all three days.

Thursday, October 12, 12:30-1:30 pm | Advanced ESL Course on Canvas with OTAN SME Francisca Wentworth. With the move to the use of Instructure Canvas LMS across the state, the course was updated and redesigned as a fully shared Canvas course. The 18-unit course is topic based and covers the following language proficiency skills: listening, reading, writing, vocabulary development, and grammar. This session will orient teachers and/or administrators to the course and how it could be incorporated into their ESL curriculum. The course is available by OTAN at no cost to California adult education agencies.

Friday, October 13, 1-2:00 pm | OTAN Tech Talk October: Creative Ways to Engage All Levels of Online Learners with OTAN SME Elisia Doonan | Want to learn new ways to involve all levels of learning online? Or are you stuck in a slump? This is for you! In this OTT attendees will see how to use Jamboard, educational websites, and their own photos to engage learners in memory, language, and critical thinking skills, just to name a few. Attendees will also see how one activity can be designed for a flexible learning experience. These activities ensure equity and accessibility for all learners.

Tuesday, October 17, 12-1:30 pm | EdTech Routines and the Triple E Framework | | Adult educators will showcase innovative Ed Tech routines they've developed during the B.E.S.T course. Be inspired by their creativity and see firsthand how technology can enhance your adult ed. classroom!
